Fairview is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Fairview is a great neighbourhood with respect to travelling without a car. Owing to many nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Canada Line, and approximately 20 nearby bus lines, Fairview is a very pleasant part of Vancouver for getting around by public transit. Fairview is also very suitable for walking; all common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and countless businesses of different types can be found as well. Fairview is a very convenient part of Vancouver for bike riders. More precisely, bike-share stations are rarely more than a few blocks away, and the cycling network is reasonably well-developed.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Fairview. There are approximately 20 supermarkets in Fairview, and the best variety can be found on streets like Cambie Street. Moreover, thanks to 150-odd restaurants and cafes in this area, there is usually a spot to get some food or drink just around the corner. In terms of education, families will value the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from vast majority homes for sale in this neighbourhood. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools.

Character

Fairview is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this neighbourhood. This part of the city has a large number of places to explore. Many entertainment venues can be found nearby, the streets are usually busy with people, and with its a few bars, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located around the corner. Broadway in particular offers a great variety of nightlife. Fairview is quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Public green spaces, such as Vanier Park and Charleson Park, are very well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to explore, which makes it easy to access them.

Housing

In Fairview, most dwellings are small apartment buildings, but large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Renters occupy around 60% of the units in Fairview and 40% are occupied by owners.
