Quadra is a neighbourhood within Saanich, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Victoria metropolitan area.

Transportation

Quadra is a fairly convenient part of Saanich for pedestrians; many common errands can be run on foot, and plenty of businesses are reasonably close by. Active home buyers will also value the quite cycling-friendly character of this neighbourhood. More precisely, Quadra boasts a good bicycling infrastructure. The public transit network in this part of the municipality is somewhat poor. Thankfully, residents are served by around 10 bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. However, the preferred way to move around in Quadra is very often a car. It is a rather short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in Quadra, and it is convenient to park.

Services

Schools and daycares are convenient to get to on foot from any location in this part of Saanich. As far as eating is concerned, the closest supermarket in Quadra is usually only a short walk away. Moreover, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a good number of options, and there are also a few cafes in this part of the municipality.

Character

Quadra is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Public green spaces, like Cedar Hill Park and Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary, are especially well-distributed and there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to visit, making them very easy to get to. This part of the municipality is also very good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as the streets are generally very tranquil.

Housing

Roughly one third of homes in Quadra were built pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
