Town Centre

The neighbourhood of Town Centre can be found in the city of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

It is easy for pedestrians to navigate Town Centre; carrying out daily needs is convenient on foot, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. However, Town Centre is not especially suited for biking since there are quite a few hills, and this area has a sometimes poor cycling infrastructure. The best way to move around in this part of the city is often a car. Parking is easy, and nearby highways are easy to reach from anywhere in Town Centre. However, the public transit network in this part of Maple Ridge is not especially convenient. Nevertheless, the nearest train station, including the Port Haney Station Eastbound and Port Haney Station Westbound on the West Coast Express, is ordinarily within walking distance from the greater part of houses in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties.

Services

Property owners in this neighbourhood will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a very short walk away. Likewise, there are a good number of options within walking distance for those who value restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, in this area, families will usually be able to get to schools and daycares on foot. Residents benefit from public and private primary schools.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Town Centre. Parks are easy to reach since there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to discover. This area is also quiet, as the streets are usually reasonably peaceful - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near the railway line.

Housing

Around two thirds of buildings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Town Centre, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 55% of the units in Town Centre and the remainder are rented. About one third of homes in this part of Maple Ridge were constructed after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
