Barnhartvale is an extraordinarily good part of Kamloops for getting around by car. Parking is quite easy. In contrast, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Moving around by bicycle is difficult in Barnhartvale because there are very few bike lanes, and bicycling is made strenuous by the often hilly area. This part of Kamloops is also not very suitable for those who travel by foot because almost no daily needs can be met without the use of a vehicle.
