Upper Delbrook

Situated within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Upper Delbrook is a neighbourhood in District of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

The best way to move around in this neighbourhood is very often driving. Many real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, and finding a parking spot is quite easy. In contrast, this part of the municipality is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. The bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Upper Delbrook because riding a bike is rendered arduous by the often hilly topography, and there are few bike lanes. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this neighbourhood, even though many daily errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are convenient to access on foot from anywhere in this area. However, Upper Delbrook does not contain any high schools. With respect to food, it is convenient to access the closest supermarket by walking in this part of District of North Vancouver.

Character

Upper Delbrook offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of the municipality is wonderful for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to discover, including St Albans Park, and they are very well-spread out, which makes it very easy to reach them.

Housing

Roughly 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. In this neighbourhood, many buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly duplexes. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened in the 1960s and 1970s. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this area.
