Located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Central Coquitlam is a neighbourhood within Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Transportation

Cars are a reasonably good medium of transportation in this part of the city. It is easy to come across a place to park. In contrast, the public transit system in Central Coquitlam is sometimes poor. Thankfully, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. Central Coquitlam is quite bike-friendly as the bicycling network is reasonably good. On the other hand, travelling by foot is not very popular in this part of the city, despite the fact that meeting daily needs is easy.

Services

Parents and their kids will appreciate that no matter where their property is situated in this neighbourhood, schools and daycares are close by. Residents can choose between public and private primary schools. With respect to food, accessing the closest supermarket on foot is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood. There are also a limited number of options for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

The character of Central Coquitlam is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. The noise levels in this part of the city are very low, as the streets are usually very calm. Lastly, public green spaces are very easy to reach since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in.

Housing

In Central Coquitlam, about 70% of dwellings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Most of the properties in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this neighbourhood. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented.
