Valley North is a community within Chilliwack, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Chilliwack metropolitan area.

Transportation

Valley North is an extraordinarily convenient part of Chilliwack for moving around by car. Most real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very easy to find a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit system in Valley North is fairly poor. Nonetheless, the community is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Walking is not very practical for property owners in Valley North because carrying out daily needs is occasionally difficult. However, biking is easy in this part of Chilliwack.

Services

Families will appreciate that no matter where their house is situated in Valley North, primary schools are nearby. However, there are only a few high schools and thus they can be a rather long walk away. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With regards to eating, some, but not all, house buyers in Valley North will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. A small variety of restaurants can be found in this community as well.

Character

Valley North is a very good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. Valley North is very quiet overall, as the streets are very tranquil - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially around one of the railway lines or Trans-Canada Highway. Green spaces aren't well-situated, making it very difficult to access them.

Housing

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Valley North is an important part of its character. About 30% of properties in this community were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 80% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.
