Situated within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Westridge is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia.

Transportation

Westridge presents homeowners with the choice between a variety of methods of transportation. Commuting by car is convenient in Westridge. It is easy to come across a parking spot. With a few nearby bus lines, the public transit system in this area is also good. It is occasionally difficult for people walking to navigate Westridge because few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. However, cycling is easy in this part of Burnaby because Westridge has a good bicycling infrastructure.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are very easy to access on foot from any location in this part of the city. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Westridge. Concerning food, it is convenient to reach the closest grocery store on foot from any home in Westridge. A small number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

A highlight of Westridge is its great variety of green spaces. It is very easy to get to parks from numerous locations within the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to relax in. As there are few pedestrians, this area remains relatively quiet, although those who are around the railway line may experience more noise.

Housing

In Westridge, about one third of buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. About one quarter of properties in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
