Silverhill

Part of the Abbotsford - Mission metropolitan area, Silverhill is a neighbourhood within Mission, British Columbia.

Transportation

Silverhill is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to find a place to park. It is very hard to commute by bicycle in Silverhill because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave. This neighbourhood is also not very convenient for those who travel by foot as almost no common errands can be run without having to use a vehicle.

Services

This part of Mission does not have any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, families may find it very difficult to access daycares on foot. When it comes to eating, it is very rarely practical for home buyers in Silverhill to travel to the nearest supermarket by walking.

Character

The character of Silverhill is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. Silverhill is especially quiet, as the streets are usually very calm. Public green spaces aren't well-situated, making them rather challenging to reach from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters. Almost all dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in this part of the municipality, while duplexes are the main alternative in the housing stock. Roughly 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
