Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Woodlands is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

Woodlands is car friendly. It is convenient to access a parking spot. However, Woodlands is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Bicycling is easy in Woodlands because the cycling network is fairly good. On the other hand, walking in this neighbourhood is not very popular, although many day-to-day needs can be met on foot.

Services

In this part of the city, families will generally be able to get to daycares and schools by walking. With respect to food, home buyers in this neighbourhood almost always have to turn to a car to travel to the closest supermarket. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically easy to get to on foot and provide some basic food items. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants within walking distance.

Character

Woodlands offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. Parks are very easy to access since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to check out. Woodlands experienced its largest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing is from this era.
