The neighbourhood of Queensland is part of the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Queensland is very car friendly. Parking is generally easy. On the other hand, Queensland is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally nearby. Queensland is not particularly suitable for walking since few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. However, this part of the city is quite suited for cycling.

Services

A portion of home buyers in this area may be able to purchase their groceries on foot, while others will have to use a vehicle. Residents of Queensland can enjoy a few restaurants as well. In terms of education, families will welcome that no matter where their house is located in this part of Calgary, schools and daycares are close by.

People who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Queensland. Most areas in this part of Calgary are especially quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, it is very easy to get to parks since there are around 10 of them close by for residents to explore.

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about two thirds of buildings in Queensland, and the remaining dwellings are mainly townhouses. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place in the 1960s and 1970s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 80% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented.
