The neighbourhood of Canyon Meadows is part of the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Canyon Meadows is car friendly. It is very convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in this area is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, the closest rapid transit station, including Canyon Meadows Station on the Red Line - Somerset - Bridlewood/Tuscany CTrain, is typically within walking distance from the bulk of homes in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Walking is not very popular in Canyon Meadows, although most daily needs are easy to carry out without the use of a vehicle. However, the bicycle is a good method of transportation in this neighbourhood.

Services

In all cases, a car is needed to shop for groceries. Nevertheless, it is generally a reasonably short distance to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some basic food items. There are also a few restaurants in this part of the city. Regarding education, daycares and schools are easy to access on foot from any location in Canyon Meadows.

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing roughly 60% of dwellings in Canyon Meadows, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 80% of the units in Canyon Meadows while renters occupy the remainder. Most homes in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, during its largest construction boom.
