Canon Ridge is a neighbourhood within Edmonton, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Canon Ridge is an extremely convenient part of Edmonton for travelling by car. It is straightforward to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway. On the other hand, Canon Ridge is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Cycling is convenient in Canon Ridge as the bicycling network is extensive. Canon Ridge is not very suitable for those who travel by foot as carrying out day-to-day needs is sometimes challenging by walking.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are convenient to get to on foot from most houses for sale in Canon Ridge. However, this area does not contain any high schools. As far as eating is concerned, some, but not all, property owners in this area will reside within walking distance of the closest grocery store. On the other hand, a coffee shop is often just around the corner, and a small variety of restaurants can be found in this neighbourhood.

Character

Canon Ridge is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. This part of Edmonton is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour around the railway line. Lastly, green spaces are very well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in, making it very easy to get to them.

Housing

About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. In this neighbourhood, about 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while the remainder are mainly single detached homes. A majority of the houses available in the housing market in this part of Edmonton were built following the year 2000, when most of the housing growth happened. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
