Citadel

Situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Citadel is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

Getting around by car is especially convenient in this area. Finding a place to park is easy, and many houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway. However, Citadel is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is typically just around the corner. Travelling on foot is not particularly practical for property owners in Citadel as few daily needs can be carried out by walking. On the other hand, Citadel is reasonably conducive to bicycling as the cycling network is reasonably good.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are convenient to walk to from most properties for sale in Citadel. In contrast, it can be challenging to access daycares on foot. As far as eating is concerned, in most, if not all, cases, a vehicle is required in this part of the city to access the nearest grocery store. Residents are served by a few restaurants and coffee shops.

Character

The character of Citadel is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This neighbourhood is very quiet, as the streets are usually very peaceful. Finally, there are around 10 parks nearby for residents to explore and they are very well-situated, which makes them very easy to get to.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood and 15% are rented. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. A majority of the housing growth in this area occurred in the 1990s. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
