Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Beltline is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

Beltline is a very good part of Calgary for car-free transportation options. Residents can count on public transit to navigate Beltline. In particular, it is very easy to come across a nearby rapid transit station, such as Victoria Park / Stampede Station on the Red Line - Somerset - Bridlewood/Tuscany CTrain, from most houses in the neighbourhood. Homeowners are served by around 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Beltline is also especially convenient for walking; all daily needs can be carried out without the use of a vehicle, and various businesses are close by. Beltline is a fairly pleasant part of Calgary for bike riders. For instance, there are not many hills to confront cyclists, and the cycling network is reasonably good.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away in Beltline. Additionally, with 150-odd restaurants and cafes in Beltline, there is usually a spot to get a meal or a beverage just around the corner. Concerning education, schools and daycares are especially easy to walk to from most properties for sale in this part of Calgary.

Character

Beltline has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Beltline is quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to discover and they are especially well-situated, resulting in them being very easy to access from most locations within the neighbourhood. Finally, finding things to do is very easy in this area. Even though a limited selection of entertainment venues can be found nearby, the streets are almost always busy with people, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the neighbourhood.

Housing

Large apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing the vast majority of buildings in Beltline, and the remaining properties are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while the rest are owners. About half of homes in this part of the city were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
