L'Aéroport

The neighbourhood of L'Aéroport can be found in the city of Québec, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

L'Aéroport is an extremely good part of Québec for driving. Coming across a place to park is easy, and many real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Duplessis. However, the public transit system in L'Aéroport is rather poor. Nonetheless, there are approximately 20 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Most homes for sale in this part of Québec are located in areas that are not very convenient for walking because few daily errands can be run on foot. It is also sometimes challenging to move around by bicycle in L'Aéroport because there are a limited number of bike lanes. Nevertheless, a few enjoyable areas for bicycling can be found, and the topography is quite flat.

Services

In this neighbourhood, parents and their children will usually be able to get to primary schools and daycares on foot. In contrast, families may consider it challenging for their kids to reach high schools as a pedestrian. With respect to food, getting to the nearest grocery store on foot is practical for some, but not all, home buyers in this part of the city. There are also a few choices for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

L'Aéroport is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. There are around 20 green spaces nearby for residents to visit, including Base de Plein Air de Sainte-Foy, which results in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations within this neighbourhood. This area is also reasonably quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - however noise can be bothersome near Autoroute Duplessis, Autoroute Henri-IV, one of the railway lines or the airport (Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport).

Housing

In L'Aéroport, most buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of Québec offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. About one third of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
