The neighbourhood of Chutes-Montmorency can be found in the city of Québec, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred method to move around in Chutes-Montmorency is very often a car. It is convenient to find a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, are very easy to drive to from any home in this part of Québec. On the other hand, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually nearby. Walking is not particularly practical for house buyers in this part of Québec since few day-to-day errands can be run on foot. Chutes-Montmorency is also not very bicycling-friendly because there are quite a few elevation changes, and the cycling network is somewhat poor.

Services

Accessing the nearest supermarket on foot is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in this neighbourhood. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops are available as well. With regards to education, daycares and schools are easy to reach on foot from anywhere in this part of Québec.

Character

The noise levels in this part of Québec are very low, as the streets are very peaceful near Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, Autoroute Félix-Leclerc or the railway line. Finally, green spaces, such as Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, are very well-distributed and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to relax in, which results in them being easy to get to from most locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of Chutes-Montmorency is made up of single detached homes and small apartment buildings, and the remaining homes are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. There are equal parts owners and renters living in this area. About one quarter of properties in this part of Québec were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
