Transportation

Little Burgundy allows house buyers to get around by a variety of means of transportation. It is very easy for pedestrians to move around in this part of the city; meeting daily needs is especially convenient, and there are also a large number of businesses in proximity. This neighbourhood will also appeal to active people as it is suitable for cycling. More specifically, Little Burgundy boasts a fairly good cycling infrastructure, there are not many hills in much of the terrain to confront cyclists, and bike-share stations are hardly ever more than a few blocks away. Thanks to Georges-Vanier Station on the Ligne 2 - Orange, and around 10 nearby bus lines, this part of Montréal is very transit friendly. Driving is also a reasonably good transportation option in Little Burgundy. Most real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Ville-Marie.

Services

It is a short walk to get to daycares and schools from any location in this part of Montréal. Regarding food, it is straightforward to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from anywhere in Little Burgundy. Character

Little Burgundy has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. This neighbourhood has numerous places to visit. Even though there is a narrow selection of entertainment venues, the streets are almost always busy with people, and with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located around the corner. Most areas in Little Burgundy are reasonably quiet, as the streets are quite tranquil, although there are still several noisier sections, especially around Autoroute Ville-Marie or one of the railway lines. This neighbourhood also features a good amount of greenery as there are numerous tree-lined streets. Parks are very well-situated and there are about 20 of them close by for residents to discover, making it very easy to reach them from the majority of locations within this part of Montréal.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing many dwellings in Little Burgundy, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Renters occupy around two thirds of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are occupied by owners. Roughly 30% of homes in this area were built in the 1980s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
