Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Pinel Creek is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in this part of the city. It is especially convenient to park, and nearby highways are easy to drive to from any home in Pinel Creek. In contrast, residents using public transit may experience limited options in this neighbourhood due to the infrequent service. Nonetheless, train stations, such as the Gare Rivière-des-Prairies on the 15 - Mascouche, are not particularly far from most houses in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Getting around by bicycle is convenient in Pinel Creek. On the other hand, most houses for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not very well-suited for those who travel by foot as common amenities such as post offices or hardware stores can be a rather long walk away.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required in this part of Montréal to access the closest grocery store. With respect to education, in Pinel Creek, parents and their schoolchildren will often be able to reach secondary schools and daycares on foot. However, there are no primary schools in this area.

Character

Pinel Creek is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Greenery is present in this part of Montréal as most streets have reasonably good tree coverage. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to enjoy, such as Parc des Cageux, and they are very well-distributed, making it very easy to access them. This part of Montréal is reasonably quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially near the railway line.

Housing

The sizeable proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Pinel Creek is an important part of its character. Roughly 40% of properties in this area were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This neighbourhood also has quite a good choice of unit sizes - there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this neighbourhood. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are rented.
