Beauport

The borough of Beauport can be found in the city of Québec, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best transportation option in Beauport is usually a car. It is easy to find a place to park, and most real estate listings are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc. On the other hand, the public transit service in Beauport is not very frequent. Thankfully, residents benefit from approximately 40 bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Walking is not very popular in this part of the city, although meeting daily needs is convenient by walking. This part of Québec is also not especially appropriate for cycling since there are a limited number of bike lanes, and riding is made difficult by the typically sloping terrain.

Services

It is a rather short walk to reach primary schools and daycares from most properties for sale in this borough. In contrast, families may consider it difficult to reach high schools on foot. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With regards to eating, reaching one of around 10 supermarkets by walking is practical for some, but not all, home buyers in Beauport. There are also a few options for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

The character of Beauport is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This area is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Finally, parks, such as Parc Cambert and Centre de Plein Air de Beauport, are very well-situated and there are over 50 of them close by for residents to visit, resulting in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations in the borough.

Housing

Roughly 60% of the properties in the borough are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 45% of buildings in this borough, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. Around 30% of properties in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This borough has a good variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
