Sainte-Dorothée is a neighbourhood within Laval, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Sainte-Dorothée is very car friendly. Nearby highways, such as Autoroute Laval Ouest, are reasonably easy to access from any location in this part of the city, and it is easy to park. However, public transit users may experience limited options in Sainte-Dorothée by reason of the low service level. Nevertheless, there are around 10 bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. It is occasionally challenging to travel by bicycle in Sainte-Dorothée because there are few bike lanes. Thankfully, cyclists do not encounter significant elevation changes. Walking is also not especially feasible for residents in this neighbourhood since common errands are at times challenging to run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Parents and their children will find that no matter where their property is located in Sainte-Dorothée, primary schools and daycares are close by. In contrast, Sainte-Dorothée does not have any high schools. As far as eating is concerned, some, but not all, house buyers in this part of the city will live within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. Character

There is a fair amount of greenery in this part of Laval as numerous tree-lined streets are prominent. There are approximately 30 public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in and they are very well-situated, which makes them easy to reach. This part of Laval is also very good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are generally very tranquil.

Housing

In Sainte-Dorothée, most buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the properties in Sainte-Dorothée and 15% are rented. The homes in this part of the city are very new, since roughly one third of its dwellings were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
